Starting an introduction when no job is posted

Sometimes you know a company is hiring and you know the hiring manager, but the job is not posted on ExpertsCircle. You can still start an introduction.

This used to be called a "speculative role". It now lives under Jobs → Start an introduction.

When to use it

• A role you have seen advertised somewhere else, such as on the company's own website.
• A hire you have heard about through your network.
• A role you expect a company you know to open.

You make the introduction yourself, on your own initiative, to a hiring manager you know.

If you already have a candidate in mind

Use Recommendations → Introduce a candidate. One form takes the hiring manager, the candidate, your vouch and their skills. See "How to introduce a candidate".

If you know the role but not the candidate yet

1. Go to Jobs → Start an introduction. You can also click Start an introduction on your Dashboard, under "No one in mind yet?".
2. Add the company, the hiring manager and the role: Job Title, Employer name, Skills, Manager name and Manager email, plus the other role details on the form.
3. Write a job description, or click Generate job description to draft one and then check it.
4. Click Create introduction.
5. Your introduction appears under Jobs → Posted by me, in Your introductions.
6. When you have a candidate, open the role and click Recommend Now.

Good to know

• Use the hiring manager's work email address.
• Your vouch is your honest opinion of the candidate, not a guarantee.
• If the candidate is hired and starts, you earn 50% of the success fee (excluding VAT). If you also brought the hiring manager to ExpertsCircle, you earn a further 15%: 65% in total.
• The fee is due when the candidate starts.
• You are paid within 14 days of ExpertsCircle receiving the employer's payment.
