Create Speculative Roles

As an Experts Circle expert, you can create speculative roles — job opportunities you track privately to recommend trusted candidates, even before they’re posted on our platform.

A speculative role is a role you believe a company will hire for, even if it’s not advertised on Experts Circle yet.

What Counts as a Speculative Role?

This can be:

• A future hire you expect a company to open soon
• A role already advertised elsewhere (LinkedIn, company site, recruiters) but not on Experts Circle
• A hiring plan you’re aware of through your network

If the employer hasn’t joined Experts Circle yet, that’s an opportunity — not a blocker.

Example

You see a company hiring a Senior Backend Engineer on LinkedIn.
They’re not on Experts Circle yet — and you already know a great candidate.

That’s a speculative role.

Why Use Speculative Roles?

• Get ahead of the competition
• Earn 75% of the placement fee
• Use your insider knowledge, not job boards
• Build a strong expert track record
• Turn LinkedIn and Indeed into deal flow

How It Works (At a Glance)

  1. Spot or hear about an opportunity
  2. Create a speculative role (or create it while recommending)
  3. Recommend trusted candidates
  4. We connect with the employer
  5. If hired, you get paid after 90 days*

Create a Speculative Role

You can create a speculative role in two ways:

From your dashboard
Go to Jobs → Create speculative role in the left menu

While recommending a candidate
The role can be created during the recommendation flow

The role stays private to you and is used only for your recommendations.
